Blue Origin chooses Luxembourg for its European office and signs a declaration of intent for space cooperation

On Thursday, 19 June 2025, Blue Origin officially announced the establishment of its European office in Luxembourg following a meeting between Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism, David Limp, CEO of Blue Origin, and Tim Collins, Vice President of Global Supply Chain at Blue Origin.

The company has chosen Luxembourg as a base from which to manage the operation of its European supply chain and support of continued growth. This new office will strengthen its presence in Europe and play a key role in the development of commercial space services, including lunar transport, space mobility, and harnessing in-space resources. This collaboration is part of the SpaceResources.lu initiative, which promotes the peaceful exploration and sustainable use of space resources for the benefit of humanity.

Founded in 2000 by Jeff Bezos, Blue Origin is an American aerospace company specialising in the development of reusable launch vehicles and advanced rocket engines, with the ambition of building the infrastructure necessary for future human activities in space. The company is pursuing several ambitious programmes aimed at reducing the cost of access to space and is also developing its own space resources programme. Among its flagship projects are New Glenn, a reusable heavy-lift launch vehicle, and Blue Moon, a lunar lander selected by NASA as part of the Artemis programme.

Lex Delles said:

The arrival of Blue Origin in Luxembourg marks a major milestone for our space ecosystem. This choice confirms the attractiveness of our regulatory framework and our vision for innovation and sustainable space exploration. We are proud to welcome a leading global player and look forward to building the future of the European space economy together.

David Limp commented: "We're looking forward to opening our office in Luxembourg and engaging more deeply with suppliers across Europe. We chose the country for its strong investment in space, the government's support for our growth and long-term vision, and its central location.
