According to Luxembourg’s proven expertise in the commercial satellite services industry and to the
SpaceResources.lu initiative nurturing the development of new space technologies, Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, appointed Étienne Schneider as a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Space Technologies.
Following his appointment, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Economy, Étienne Schneider stated: “The nomination of a Luxembourg representative is based on the international standing of our space sector and the capabilities of its national actors. My appointment is in line with the long-lasting commitment of the Government to support the strengthening of the space sector.”
The World Economic Forum’s Network of Global Future Councils is the world’s foremost interdisciplinary knowledge network dedicated to promote innovative thinking for the future. The network convenes the most relevant and knowledgeable thought leaders from academia, government, business and civil society to challenge conventional thinking and develop new insights and perspectives on the key global systems, as well as the impact and governance of key emerging technologies.
